Here is the ship that retreives the booster rockets and fuel tank for

shuttle (it's been right here next to me the whole time and I just

realized it... Doh! Heh)

So, I found what hopefully will be the best view, pulled my car right up

to the water, to my back is the press area about 200 yds back, I have

noone around me except egrets and seagulls and still can relax and

listen to the updates from here over the loud speaker. Not sure you can

tell in the pic but the rocket is straight out slightly peaking through

the brush. (One pic of my view, one pic of behind me)



It is so nice and relaxing out here, only thing that would make it more

perfect was if I could fish in this water ;)

T minus 1 hr 40 min till atlas goes off (new horizons launch) I am here

at the press site where all news people are here and the big famous

countdown clock. It's fun when atlas launch control gets on the big

overhead speaker outside to tell us of everything. I can barely see the

launch pad because press site was set up to face pad 39b (shuttles main

pad) and atlas is leaving from a pad south of that, so it's a lot of

brush on the horizon.



And now an hour of sitting here and waiting. Fun.

So I can't tell on my fone if you can see her in the water but there was

a manatee and calf up against the sea wall of our property (literally at

my feet) when we went back to look at the house. One picture is her at

my feet and the other is her getting air.
